About MerseyCare Children’s Services
At MerseyCare, we aim to develop each young person’s independence and improve their daily routines through a range of skills-based activities tailored to their individual needs. While living at MerseyCare, young people will also be supported to participate in activities that reflect their interests, wishes, and preferences.
We create a supportive and secure environment where young people can overcome their challenges, unlocking their true potential
Our aim is to create a happy, calm and supportive environment where young people feel safe, engaged and encouraged to develop essential life skills.
At MerseyCare, each young person is allocated a key worker who will support them to follow a bespoke life skills programme tailored to their individual needs, abilities and goals. The programme will focus on developing independence and practical skills to support the young person in their day-to-day life and future development.
Where appropriate, we will also support young people to access education in subjects such as Maths, English and Science, alongside any other areas identified as beneficial to their development.
An individual education plan will be developed for each young person when they are placed at MerseyCare. Staff will dedicate time and energy to supporting, encouraging and motivating young people to engage with education and learning. Progress will be monitored and the education plan reviewed regularly to ensure it continues to reflect the young person's needs, interests and aspirations.
We also encourage independence skills, staying safe in the community and online, and promoting a healthy lifestyle
We provide a positive and nurturing home environment for our young people, with clear boundaries, consistent structure, and appropriate support. We encourage personal growth, build confidence and self-belief, and support each young person to reach their full potential in life.
